This year is off to a strong start, and it is a good moment to reflect on West Welding’s operations and ongoing progress.
Our Largest Project to Date: 2,300 m³ Fuel Tanks
Last year marked a period of significant positive development for West Welding. The most notable milestone was our deal to design and manufacture two LNG fuel tanks which is the largest project in our company’s history. Each tank weighs over 300 tons, with a total volume of approximately 2,300 m³. Delivering a project of this scale requires dedication across the organization, and I want to thank our entire team for the commitment and agility for promt actions in the project execution.
Before midsummer of 2026, two of the largest special transport deliveries ever carried out on Finnish roads will take place. Close cooperation with the authorities has been established to ensure these complex transports are executed safely and efficiently.

Strategic Property Aquisition and Production Hall Expansion Enables Long-Term Growth
A key strategic decision during the year was the acquisition of our property. This decision provides us a long-term opportunities to further develop our production facilities. To meet increasing customer demand and enhance our production capacity, we are currently expanding our production hall. The expansion will enable us execute our future strategy to deliver more full-scale projects, including insulation, internal piping, and auxiliary equipment as part of our scope. This investment is co-financed by the European Union and has received EU rural development funding.
New Equipment Investments Enhance Production
Alongside with the expansion, we have made several equipment investments to improve our productivity and competitivness. To highlight few of them, we invested in new beveling machine, Kemppi wire welding machines, and a thick material plasma cutter. Our visitor center has also been renovated to modern standards. With these developments and exciting large-scale projects underway, we are actively looking for skilled welding professionals to join our growing team.
Advancing Sustainability and Energy Efficiency
Sustainability remains a key focus and at the center of our strategy. We have published a sustainability report in accordance with the VSME standard (basic module), and energy efficiency improvements are being integrated into our production upgrades. Our financial position remains strong, reflected in our highest AAA credit rating from Dun & Brandstreet.

Towards steady growth and demanding full-scale projects
Looking ahead, we anticipate steady growth and continued engagement in demanding, full-scale projects where our expertise delivers the greatest value to our customers.
Best regards, Janne Halonen
