We specialize in manufacturing large pressure equipment from special materials. We manufactured and delivered a lamella evaporator to a paper industry operator to Sweden in 2024. This project is an example of our ability to execute large and technically demanding process equipment efficiently, tailored to our customer’s needs.
Technical Specifications of the Lamella Evaporator
The evaporator we manufactured was large in scale – with a diameter of 6.5 meters and a length of 16 meters. The structure required careful planning and precise execution to meet the required quality standards. The total weight of the evaporator was up to 160 tons, with internal lamella modules weighing 75 tons combined.
Duplex steel was chosen as the material for the heat exchanger due to its suitability for this application and the demanding conditions of the paper industry. Its high strength and corrosion resistance ensure a long service life and reliable performance, even in demanding conditions.
Challenges in Manufacturing Large Pressure Equipment
Manufacturing challenges increase with larger equipment. The production of the evaporator required special attention to the installation of modules and welding sequences, as the available space inside the tank was very limited despite the size of the tank. Thanks to precise planning and carefully performed work phases, the project proceeded as planned and met its objectives.
Pressure tests were an essential part of the evaporator’s quality assurance process. These tests were conducted in four stages, with the final stage involving a filling capacity of up to 409 cubic meters. The pressure tests ensured that the equipment met all quality requirements before delivery to the customer.
Delivery and Transport to Sweden
In addition to manufacturing, the project also included the transport of the lamella evaporator to the customer in Sweden. Moving such a large and heavy unit required detailed logistical planning and specialized transport. Thanks to transport planning by experienced professionals, the delivery was carried out safely and on schedule.
