West Welding is committed to sustainability in every aspect of its operations. This is a key reason for our success as a provider of industrial solutions for nearly 40 years. Our work is grounded in our core values: expertise, quality, reliability, and, of course, sustainability.

Sustainability at West Welding is a broad concept that encompasses environmental, social, and economic accountability, as well as good governance. This ensures that we meet the highest quality standards while considering the well-being of people and the environment in every project and product we deliver.

Commitment to sustainability goals

West Welding aligns with the United Nations goals in the following ways:

3: Good health and well-being: We offer comprehensive occupational health services and a safe working environment for our employees.

7: Affordable and clean energy: We enhance energy efficiency and are transitioning to carbon-free electricity.

8: Decent work and economic growth: We employ 26 people and support the local economy.

9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure: We provide sustainable and long-term solutions for our clients.

12: Responsible consumption and production: We adhere to ISO 14001 guidelines, focusing on waste minimization and sorting.

Environmentally-centered operations

West Welding operates under the ISO 14001 environmental management system, which supports sustainable development and forms the foundation of our sustainable approach. We are committed to preventing and reducing the environmental impact of our operations. Our goal is to transition to completely carbon-neutral electricity by 2025, a significant step towards a more sustainable future.

Social responsibility for all

The well-being and safety of our employees are of utmost importance. We provide comprehensive occupational health care and a safe working environment, which is why our employees tend to stay with us long-term. We also support local activities by sponsoring sports clubs and other events. We aim to ensure that every employee feels well and secure, and that our local community benefits from our presence.

Focus on financial stability

We are a financially stable and profitable company, as evidenced by our AAA rating. This certification confirms that our financial figures are above average and that our financial background is positive. We are one of the largest corporate taxpayers in the municipality of Teuva, and wages are always paid on the agreed dates according to the collective agreements of the technology industry and industrial union.

In addition, West Welding has been awarded the Key Flag symbol, indicating that our products are made and services provided in Finland.

Good governance as the foundation of good work

Our operations are regulated by Finnish laws, as well as international regulations and standards. We comply with all the requirements set by these laws, regulations, and standards. We do not tolerate corruption or bribery and require the same commitment to ethical practices from our subcontractors and suppliers.

The Strongest in Finland certification, especially the Platinum certificate awarded by Asiakastieto, is a symbol of good governance. This certification is awarded to only about 3% of Finnish companies, and West Welding is proud to be one of them.

Sustainably towards the future

Sustainability is at the core of West Welding’s operations, and we are committed to acting sustainably in all areas of our business. We want to contribute to creating a better and more sustainable future for our customers, employees, and environment. This ensures that our employees thrive at West Welding and that we achieve our goals of delivering the best possible equipment to our customers.
